The name of the design draws from the song "Jesus of Suburbia" by Green Day, a song that provided solace during formative years when I was 15, homeless and in the streets. The song opens with the line "I'm the son of Rage & Love, the Jesus of Suburbia". These roses and what they mean are central to Black By Young's visual identity, symbolizing the strength and worth of those who've felt overlooked.
